Description

The Distel Hitch is friction knot popular with arborists used to ascend a climbing rope.

Use

It can be used on main climbing rope for ascending. Distel hitch requires line with loops on each end.
The loops can be made using double fisherman’s knot. The line should be of smaller diameter than the main rope.
The Distel will only grip in one direction which makes it
suitable for climbing.
