Description

The adjustable grip hitch is a simple and useful friction hitch which may easily be shifted up and down the rope while slack.

Use

Used when you want to adjust your tensioning rope. It can be shifted easily by hand in either direction but locks up firmly under load.

Releasing

Jamming

Security

It will hold fast when loaded, but slip when shock loaded until tension is relieved enough for it to again hold fast. For more security and gripping power, make three wraps around the main part of the rope.
