Ground-line hitch

1. Make a turn around the object and bring the working end back over the standing part. Continue around behind the object.
2. Pass the working end over the last turn and under the first turn around the object.
3. Pull firmly on the ends to tighten.

Worked-up and dressed properly, it is more secure than the simpler clove hitch and has less tendency to jam,
but does not respond well to swinging.
